Wright has a new modern design auction on october 18. One of the standout items has to be this "prototype radio enclosure". Designed by Charles Eames in 1946 for Evans Products. It was a gift from Charles to Alexander Girard who at the time worked as head of design at radio manufacturer Detrola.
Check the auction here.

Mid Mod in Arnhem
We went mid-mod exploring recently in the town of Arnhem. First up was the "provinciehuis" from 1954. designed by architect Jo Vegter.
Then city hall. This opened in 1968, but had already been designed in 1959 by J.J. Konijnenburg (a former student of Rietveld).

Surprise modern
While on vacation in Italy we came across this strikingly modern home. High on a mountain in a small village. I have no clue on who designed it or from what year it is. My guess is 60's or 70's....

Buy it now: vintage Intermediate Desk Chair
Selling a vintage Intermediate Desk Chair. These were only made from 1968 to 1973 and thus purty rare. It's in very good condition, with some damage to the chrome of one of the side antlers (see picture) and some pitting to the chrome on the base (common to these chairs). Also 2 buttons detached from the seat cushion (I have these, they only need to be re-attached). Made by Herman Miller (label to underside) in brown hopsack. Oh, and it also swivels! All this for 550 euros....
Eastern Kentucky University
Spotted this building on the campus of the Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. Apparently it's the "Model Laboratory High School" and according to Wikipedia was completed in 1961. Haven't been able to trace who designed it but it doesn't look bad...
Columbus, Indiana
On vacation recently in the US we stopped in Columbus, Indiana. Columbus is famous for its architecture. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very good that day and we didn't have much time, but I did manage to visit a few highlights....
First is the First Christian Church. This was the first modern building in Columbus. Designed by Eliel Saarinen and completed in 1942.
Then we went to the First National Bank, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1954. This one is famous for the domed ceiling lights (which you can't see in the pictures :). Unfortunately the bank wasn't open, but it looks like the interior is still original.
Last but not least was the North Christian Church. Also designed by Eero Saarinen and completed in 1964. This was the last building he designed before his death in 1961. Very impressive....

Wish I had the money to buy this....
Just found this one for sale here in Holland. Check out the details, especially the crazy entrance! It was built in 1952 and designed by the architect duo Verbruggen-Goldschmidt. The interior appears to be fairly original. Hope this goes to someone who appreciates it.....
